Daily duties include providing follow-up breastfeeding support to WIC participants. The role receives referrals from peer counselors, WIC staff, and local medical providers for mothers facing complex maternal and infant breastfeeding problems beyond standard scopes of practice.

Requirements

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
Experience working as a Senior Health Educator in public health
Knowledge of WIC program operations and breastfeeding support
Ability to manage complex breastfeeding challenges in maternal-infant dyads
Familiarity with lactation consulting best practices
Proficiency in health education and counseling techniques
Commitment to confidentiality and regulatory compliance in sensitive positions
