Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant provides lactation consultation and education for breastfeeding mothers at Alta Bates Medical Center regardless of age, race, religion, ability, and economic or social status. They demonstrate excellent assessment and implementation skills. This role helps mothers attain their individual breastfeeding goals.

Lactation Consultants assess maternal and infant needs, implement tailored plans, and prioritize responsibilities effectively. They counsel breastfeeding women and support lactation in settings like NICU. Excellent documentation and teaching skills ensure comprehensive care delivery.

This part-time position offers 24 weekly hours with day/evening shifts, variable days, and every other weekend requirements. Employees join Sutter Health at ABSMC-Ashby Campus as regular, non-exempt staff. Flexibility thrives in a changing healthcare environment.
