About this role

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Duke Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke Women’s Health Cary in Cary, NC and Duke Women’s Health Holly Springs in Holly Springs, NC. The APP will work in collaboration with attending physicians and APPs providing direct patient care. Responsibilities include performing consultations, collecting and documenting data, assisting in procedures, and ordering laboratory studies.

Primary hours are Monday through Friday with clinical sessions generally 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, flexible to meet patient needs. Provide obstetric care to prenatal patients from the new obstetric visit throughout pregnancy including postpartum visits. Perform new obstetric exams identifying problems complicating pregnancy or pre-existing.

Practice as part of Duke Health’s outpatient clinic network across three hospitals and over 140 primary care and specialty clinics in North Carolina. Work within team-based integrative care in a variety of specialties. Expected to work to top of scope contributing to clinical practice, education, and research missions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Women's Health work experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife preferred
  • New graduate NP, PA or CNM with clinical rotations in Women's Health
  • Certification as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife
  • Active licensure in North Carolina as applicable to role
  • Experience in obstetric and postpartum care
  • Ability to interpret labs and manage prenatal complications

Responsibilities

  • Order and schedule laboratory studies
  • Perform new obstetric exams identifying problems complicating pregnancy
  • Initiate plan of care, diagnostic testing, and interpretation of labs
  • Develop treatment plans based on individual patient medical history
