Requirements

  • Current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (Ahpra)
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in midwifery
  • Minimum of three years’ full-time, or equivalent, clinical midwifery experience
  • Familiarity with university standards and academic writing, including researching, writing and referencing assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise undergraduate university students
  • Understanding of contemporary professional, clinical and educational issues relevant to higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-quality teaching within the Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) and related midwifery courses
  • Support student learning through tutorials, practical and clinical sessions
  • Develop engaging and contemporary learning materials
  • Conduct assessments to ensure students achieve unit and course objectives
  • Contribute to the teaching effort of the School
  • Maintain and develop scholarly, research and/or professional practice relevant to midwifery
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and assess teaching duties to high standards
