About this role

The Perinatal Mental Health Clinician carries out the mission of the Perinatal Depression Program to identify and support women and families at risk for perinatal mood disorders. This role involves responding to calls on the 866-364-MOMS hotline, providing emotional support, assessing caller status, and developing joint intervention plans. Results of activities are reported to the director and/or program coordinator.

Cover on-call shifts to field hotline calls from patients, family members, and healthcare providers, delivering emotional support and psycho-education while assessing mood and situational factors. Develop joint plans for intervention based on assessments. Initiate outreach calls to patients scoring in the depressed range on the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale.

Complete psychosocial assessments of patients and develop joint action plans. Duties can be primarily off-site and remote, with two 8-hour shifts per month required on the 24/7 hotline covering midnight-8AM, 8AM-4PM, and 4PM-midnight. Position supports Endeavor Health's integrated healthcare system across northeast Illinois.

Requirements

  • Licensed Social Worker in the state of Illinois
  • Advanced degree in mental health or related field: LSW/LCSW, LPC/LCPC, PsyD/PhD, LMFT, Advanced Practice Nurse (psychiatric)
  • Three years recent experience in the area of mental health services

Responsibilities

  • Respond to calls received by the 866-364-MOMS hotline providing emotional support
  • Assess the status of callers and develop joint plans for intervention
  • Initiate outreach calls to patients who have scored in the depressed range on the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale
