About this role

The Hoag Specialty Clinic is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to join a growing team of Maternal Mental Health Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners and therapists at Newport Beach and Irvine locations. This role includes clinical time and protected administrative time. It offers a balance of patient care and administrative duties in a supportive environment.

The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations for patients in the outpatient setting, either in person or via synchronous telehealth. Expert consultations will be provided for admitted maternity patients at Hoag Hospital’s Newport Beach and Irvine campuses. These responsibilities focus on reproductive maternal mental health needs.

Schedule is 32 hours per week, approximately 8am-5pm, fitting a part-time commitment. The position integrates into a multidisciplinary team setting with strong interpersonal collaboration. Passion for excellent clinical care is essential.

This is a growing program with support from Hoag Women’s Health Institute. Opportunities exist within an expanding maternal mental health initiative. The role emphasizes specialized perinatal and reproductive psychiatry expertise.

Requirements

Board Certification or Board eligible in Psychiatry with experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
Specialty training in Perinatal & Reproductive Psychiatry
MD or DO degree, and completion of ACGME accredited residency in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted California Medical License, or eligible for California State Medical Licensure
Active DEA license
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting and a passion for providing excellent clinical care
