About this role

The Hoag Specialty Clinic is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to join a growing team of Maternal Mental Health Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners and therapists at Newport Beach and Irvine locations. This role includes clinical time and protected administrative time. It supports comprehensive maternity care through specialized psychiatric services.

The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations for Hoag patients in the outpatient setting in person or via synchronous telehealth. Expert consultations will be offered for admitted maternity patients at Hoag Hospital’s Newport Beach and Irvine campuses. Time splits across clinical duties, administrative tasks, and telehealth.

Work 40 hours per week with approximate hours from 8am-5pm across Newport Beach, Irvine, and telehealth platforms. Join a multidisciplinary team in a growing program backed by Hoag Women’s Health Institute. Collaborate with therapists and nurse practitioners for integrated care.

This position offers part-time flexibility within a supportive environment focused on reproductive maternal mental health. Contribute to an expanding initiative with dedicated resources for high-quality patient outcomes. Engage in both direct care and program development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Board Certification or Board eligible in Psychiatry with experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
  • Specialty training in Perinatal & Reproductive Psychiatry
  • MD or DO degree, and completion of ACGME accredited residency in Psychiatry
  • Active, unrestricted California Medical License, or eligible for California State Medical Licensure
  • Active DEA license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations for patients in the outpatient setting in person or via synchronous telehealth
  • Provide expert consultations for admitted maternity patients at Hoag Hospital’s Newport Beach and Irvine campuses
  • Dedicate 40 hours per week with approximate hours 8am-5pm across Newport Beach, Irvine, and telehealth
  • Balance clinical time with protected administrative time
  • Support maternal mental health through evaluations and consultations in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Contribute to a growing program within the Women’s Health Institute
